Hello,
I am a 26 year old Canadian, currently living in Denmark where I recently received my Master’s degree in Economics (with a focus on finance) from the University of Copenhagen; before that, I was at Queen’s University in Canada. After six years of intense economic academia, I am finally ready to start my career in finance.
I would be an asset to any firm, as I am hard working, eager to learn and highly flexible. I have excellent financial analysis skills, as demonstrated through my master’s thesis (Stress Testing with a Macroeconomic Credit Risk Model for the Corporate Loan Portfolio of Canadian Banks) where I used a variety of statistical and economic models to assess the stability of the Canadian financial industry. In addition to the modeling involved, my thesis also included a significant amount of risk analysis and research.
I believe my extensive academic experience has prepared me to work successfully in a variety of disciplines. I have taken courses in international finance, investment theory, finance theory, and financial markets (to name a few). These have introduced me to the inner workings of foreign exchanges, derivatives and valuation models. I have also taken courses in econometrics and monetary economics giving me a solid math base and a sharp focus on detail. Currently, I am studying for the first part of the Financial Risk Managers exam this May (offered through GARP.com).
In 2005 I was an intern at the Healthy Child Development Fund, where I assisted account supervisors in researching potential clients and preparing documents and presentations. I have had several student jobs, which have helped to develop my teamwork and communication skills while demonstrating my ability to work effectively under pressure. fostered my leadership and time- management skills. Finally, my time on the Queen’s University Sailing Team executive fostered my leadership and time- management skills.
If your firm is looking for an ambitious, smart young man, please contact me here. Given the chance, I will not disappoint.
Sincerely,
Christian
